Introducing Team Colibri

Written by Vesna Corgurik, Colibri Team Member

Welcome to our blog! Please visit us often, as we are planning to keep you updated with information as well as pictures from our adventure.

Our team’s name, Colibri (or hummingbird in English), was chosen because this is one remarkable little bird that travels great distances, and can be found in both USA and Peru. As a team we are bridging and uniting continents, we thought that it would perfectly represent us and our team. We are colorful as this little bird is, and as unique individually as this bird is. J

At this time, we are getting ready for our trip: details big and small, and right now we feel really confident and ready for our adventure! In a week or so, we are going to meet our Peru GSE team that is visiting us, and we’re already planning a full day of activities with them on the 9th of April, as we are going to spend the whole day together in Portland, Oregon, getting to know each other better and discuss our two countries.

At the end of April, we are also going to be attending the Rotary District Conference starting April 28th in Coos Bay, where we are going to see all sorts of different projects that Rotarians are doing around the world, but also see presentations from GSE members from Italy and Peru! We may also end up presenting ourselves, time permitting.

In the early morning hours of May 2nd, we’ll be departing USA from the Eugene, Oregon airport, for Lima, Peru. As much as it will be hard leaving our friends and family behind, we’ll be ready for another adventure that would enrich us, so please check back with our blog for newest, up to date updates on our trip.

Sincerely,

Team Colibri J
